What is PEC and what is it for?
PEC (Certified Electronic Mail) is a communication system that provides legal certainty of the sending and delivery of messages. It has the same value as a registered letter with return receipt and is mandatory for businesses, professionals and public administrations.
Which PEC domains are available?
Our main domains are @lifepec.it (ideal for individuals) and @jobpec.it (ideal for professionals and companies). The @jetpec.it, @lapec.pro and @postacert.eu domains are also available. Alternatively, you can certify your company domain and create custom PEC mailboxes in the form name@pec.yourdomain.com.
Can I use PEC with my mail client?
Yes. PEC supports the IMAP, POP3 and SMTP protocols and is compatible with Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail, Gmail and any standard mail client. You can also set it up on Android and iOS smartphones.
How does the archive space work?
The Inbox space is dedicated to active messages in the PEC mailbox. The archive space (available in the Business and Enterprise plans) lets you keep important messages in a separate area, freeing up space in the main mailbox without losing communications. Both can be expanded.
Is PEC valid abroad?
Yes. PEC is recognised and valid in all European Union countries thanks to the eIDAS regulation (electronic IDentification, Authentication and trust Services) that governs electronic signatures and trust services.
How long does activation take?
Activation is immediate after the identity verification is completed. You'll receive the login credentials and configuration instructions by email.
What is the attachment limit?
Each PEC message can have attachments up to 100 MB. The maximum number of recipients per single send is 500.
