FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The answers to the most common questions about uptime monitoring.

What is uptime monitoring and why do I need it?

Uptime monitoring automatically checks that your websites, servers and services are reachable and working. When something goes offline, you're notified instantly via email, Telegram, Slack or other channels, so you can act before your customers notice.

How often are checks performed?

You can configure monitoring intervals from 1 minute to several hours, depending on your needs. For critical services we recommend 1-5 minute intervals, for less critical sites checks every 15-30 minutes are sufficient.

How do status pages work?

Status pages are public web pages that show the real-time status of your services. You can customise them with your brand, protect them with a password, use a custom domain and include incident notes. They are lightweight, fast and search-engine optimised.

What are Heartbeats?

Heartbeats monitor scheduled processes (cron jobs, automatic backups, recurring tasks). Your service sends a "ping" at regular intervals. If the ping doesn't arrive within the expected time, you receive an alert. It's the best way to know if a nightly backup or a critical process has stopped working.

From how many locations is my site monitored?

Monitoring happens from multiple locations distributed globally. This makes it possible to detect localised issues (for example, a site reachable from Europe but not from Asia) and to reduce false positives caused by temporary network problems.

Can I monitor internal services or ones protected by authentication?

Yes. You can configure custom HTTP requests with headers, authentication (Basic, Bearer token), specific methods (GET, POST, PUT) and custom bodies. You can also validate the response content to verify that the service is working correctly.

Is there an API to integrate monitoring into my systems?

Yes. A complete, documented REST API lets you create, edit and query monitors, read uptime statistics, manage incidents and automate any programmable operation.

How many sites/services can I monitor?

There are no hard limits. The platform currently manages over 410 monitored services with more than 57 million checks performed. Contact us for a tailored plan based on the number of monitors and the features you need.
