Backup & Disaster Recovery

Backup and Disaster Recovery

Automatic backups, snapshots and assisted restore, managed in Italy and included in our solutions. We protect your data from failures, human error and ransomware, with clear RTO and RPO objectives, safeguarding business continuity. Unlike those who just sell you the space, we handle the restore, in Italian.

Why it matters

Data is lost in an instant

Failures, errors, attacks and accidental deletions hit businesses every day. Without a managed backup and a recovery plan, a single event can halt operations for days.

Hardware failure

Disks and servers break without warning: without copies, the data is gone for good.

Human error

A wrong update or a misconfiguration can compromise the entire system.

Ransomware

Attacks encrypt data and demand a ransom: clean, off-site copies are the only way out.

Downtime

According to industry studies, downtime costs SMEs thousands of euros per hour on average.

According to industry studies, a significant share of companies hit by a serious data loss without a recovery plan never fully recovers. Prevention costs a fraction of the damage.

Our approach

Managed backup and complete disaster recovery

We don’t just make a copy: we keep it safe, verify it and make sure the restore really works when needed. All handled by us, in Italian.

Automatic daily backups

Full backups every day included in our managed VPS and hosting plans, with no manual configuration. Your data is safe even when you forget to think about it.

On-demand snapshots

Snapshots of the entire server before every update or delicate operation: if something goes wrong, we roll back to the previous state in minutes, losing nothing.

Replication and off-site copy

Copies don’t stay only where the site lives: we replicate data in the datacenter and keep off-site copies, following the 3-2-1 backup logic to protect against failures and incidents.

Tested and assisted restore

A backup is only worth it if it really restores. We verify the copies and handle the restore for you, with support in Italian: you tell us what to recover, we handle the rest.

Configurable retention

Together we define how long to keep copies and how often. You can go back to versions from days or weeks ago, useful against deletions noticed too late.

Disaster recovery plan

Not just backup: we define restore procedures with clear RTO and RPO objectives, so you know in advance how long it takes to get back up and how much data at most you risk losing.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the most common questions about backup, disaster recovery, RTO, RPO and business continuity.

What do RTO and RPO mean and why are they important?

RTO (Recovery Time Objective) is the maximum time within which you want to be operational again after an incident; RPO (Recovery Point Objective) is the maximum amount of data you can afford to lose, i.e. how far “back in time” the last usable backup goes. Defining these two objectives together lets us size backup frequency and restore procedures to your business’s real needs, without over- or under-protecting the data.

Are backups really included or paid separately?

In our managed VPS and hosting plans, automatic daily backups are included: it’s not a hidden cost or an add-on for basic protection. For more advanced needs, such as extended retention, additional off-site copies or a structured disaster recovery plan, we define the solution on a quote basis, based on your RTO and RPO objectives.

What is the 3-2-1 backup rule?

It’s an industry-recognised best practice: keep at least 3 copies of your data, on 2 different media or systems, of which 1 copy is off-site (away from the main location). This drastically reduces the risk of losing everything to a single failure, error or attack. Our configurations follow this logic, with replication in the datacenter and copies separate from production data.

Do you really protect me from ransomware?

Ransomware encrypts data and demands a ransom: the most effective defence is having clean, separate copies that the attack can’t modify, to restore from. With off-site backups, snapshots and configured retention we can bring you back to a state prior to the infection. For the prevention side (endpoint protection, monitoring) we integrate the service with our IT security, to protect and recover from a single partner.

How long does it take to restore data after a problem?

It depends on the size of the data and the type of restore, but it’s exactly what we define in advance with the RTO. A snapshot of the entire server restores in minutes; recovering single files or databases is just as fast. The restore is assisted: we handle it, in Italian, so you don’t have to improvise during the emergency.

Why isn’t it enough to leave backups to my current host?

Many providers only sell the space and leave the backup as a raw option or up to you, never verifying that the restore really works. The difference in our service is management: tested copies, thoughtful retention, off-site replication and above all a team that restores for you. A backup that has never been tested is a false sense of security.

How much does it cost to lose data or stay offline?

According to industry studies, downtime costs SMEs several thousand euros on average for every hour of stoppage, and a significant share of companies that suffer a serious data loss without a recovery plan fail to fully recover. In this light, managed backup and a disaster recovery plan aren’t a cost, but insurance on business continuity.
